e-auction of liquor vends starts in Himachal
Applicants can participate in the bidding process remotely from their homes or offices
The first-ever e-auction of retail liquor shops in Himachal Pradesh for financial year April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, commenced today.
An official spokesperson said here that this year, the state government approved the allotment of retail liquor vends through a transparent online e-auction system. On the first day, the e-auction process was initiated for Kinnaur, Hamirpur and Chamba districts.
He said that the e-auction would be conducted unit-wise, with separate online bids invited for each retail excise liquor unit. For the liquor units of Kinnaur, Hamirpur and Chamba districts, the online applications could be submitted from February 23 to 26. The auction would be held on February 28 from 9 am to 5 pm, he added.
The spokesperson said that for Sirmaur, Una and the Baddi districts, the applications could be submitted from February 24 to 26 while the auction would be conducted on March 2. For Solan, Kangra and Bilaspur districts, the applications would be submitted from February 25 to 27 and the auction of vends would take place on March 3.
He said that for Mandi and Nurpur, the applications could be submitted from February 26 to 28 and the auction would be held on March 5. For Shimla and Kullu districts, the applications could be submitted from February 27 to March 3 and the auction would take place on March 7.
