The aim of the celebrations to mark Nehru’s birth anniversary is to pay tribute to his contributions to nation-building while familiarising children and young people with his progressive ideas on education, youth empowerment and social development.

Board Chairman Rajesh Sharma said that the event would take place on the official premises in Dharamsala. “The programme will feature state-wide competitions based on Nehru’s life, ideology and educational policies. Cultural performances depicting his role in shaping modern India and his vision for a progressive society will also form part of the celebrations,” he added.

Students excelling in various competitions would be felicitated with awards and certificates, while distinguished educationists and members of the education board would also be honoured.

Sharma said that a special publication highlighting Nehru’s views on education, youth and employment would be released during the event. He added that celebrating Children’s Day in this manner would help instil moral and historical awareness among students and inspire them to contribute positively to society.
