The department of evening studies, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), will hold walk-in interviews for one post of guest faculty each in the subjects of economics, mathematics and commerce for the academic session 2019-2020.



The department of evening studies, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), will hold walk-in interviews for one post of guest faculty each in the subjects of economics, mathematics and commerce for the academic session 2019-2020. The chairperson of the department, Prof Meenakshi Faith Paul, said the interviews would be held at the Himachal Pradesh University faculty house at 9:30 am on July 23. The eligibility should be as per the UGC norms. 

Girls shine in U-19 sports meet 

Students of Government Senior Secondary Girls School, Jubbal, excelled in the U-19 block-level sports and cultural meet held recently. They won the first prize in march past, folk dance, solo singing, group singing and instrumental music. Principal Pitamber congratulated the students and lauded the efforts of staff members in preparing them for such events.

Free textbooks in govt schools

The state education department has sent a reminder to the officials concerned to provide the details of textbooks required in government schools in their areas. The department has resolved to provide free textbooks to students of classes I to XII in government schools for this academic session on time.

Fancy dress competition

Students of Saraswati Paradise International School, Sanjauli, Shimla, organised a fancy dress competition on its premises. Nursery students came dressed as national leaders and freedom fighters. They also wore dresses depicing WhatsApp, junkfood, fruits etc. It was a delight to watch KG students who came attired in colourful dresses highlighting various cultures and states of India. Director DP Mittal and Principal Mandeep Rana were also present. The winners were also honoured.
