Educational institutions in Kangra participated with renewed determination to strengthen the national mission for a TB-Mukt Bharat, recognising that persistent myths and stigma continued to hinder timely diagnosis and treatment. At a workshop held at the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, principals and educationists from 58 institutions charted a road map for comprehensive health promotion, emphasising lung health and tobacco-free campuses.

A key focus of the campaign was the creative potential of the youth. Colleges, ITIs and nursing institutions of the district were encouraged to channel student energy into poster-making, digital campaigns, debates and innovation contests—turning awareness into action. With young voices shaping the narrative, messages on TB prevention and treatment can become more relatable, engaging and widely impactful. Social media was highlighted as a powerful platform to amplify youth-led advocacy, counter stigma and promote informed health choices.

District Health Officer-cum-TB Officer Dr RK Sood reiterated that TB patients become non-infectious soon after starting treatment and should not face isolation. He emphasised preventive treatment and early screening through handheld X-ray technology for vulnerable groups.
