Shimla, October 3
Eight persons died of coronavirus in the state today, taking the total number of fatalities to 205. Besides, 241 fresh Covid cases were reported — the total tally rose to 15,695.
Three Covid deaths were reported in Shimla, two in Kangra and one each in Bilaspur, Kullu and Sirmaur districts.
The highest number of 32 cases was reported in Shimla, followed by 26 in Kangra, 23 in Solan, 18 in Mandi, 13 each in Bilaspur and Hamirpur, 12 in Kullu, 11 in Una and five in Sirmaur. No fresh cases were reported in Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts. The total number of active cases in the state stood at 3,292.
A 78-year-old woman from Bela village in Shillai (Sirmaur) died at the IGMC Hospital, Shimla, on Saturday. She was suffering from several co-morbidities, said Deputy Commissioner, Sirmaur, RK Pruthi. Meanwhile. As many as 303,927 samples have been tested in the state so far.
