Eight drug peddlers arrested in Dehra, Nurpur in three days

The Dehra and Nurpur police have arrested eight drug peddlers in the past three days and seized “chitta” and charas from them. The Damtal police, on a tip-off, searched a storeroom belonging to Sahil, alias Mintu (24), on Monday evening and seized 35.73 grams of heroin.

The Jawali and Nurpur police have seized three tippers and one tractor-trailer engaged in illegal mining at different locations in the past 24 hours. The Dehra police have arrested seven drug peddlers in the past three days.

According to Dehra SP Manyank Chaudhary, the Jawalamukhi police recovered 302 grams of charas from Kushal Kumar, alias Arjun, a resident of Ganju da Bagh, on Monday. He said on Sunday the Sansarpur police arrested two peddlers and recovered “chitta” and charas from them.

Besides, the Jawalamukhi police also arrested two drug peddlers on February 7 and recovered 4 grams of “chitta” and 30 grams of charas from them.
