A dispute, which arose between two parties over blockage on the Shiv Mandir link road at Harraipur village last evening, left eight persons injured. According to information, one group had stored sand and gravel on the link road while laying foundation for the third floor of their under-construction house. A driver from the other party objected to the road blockage, leading to an altercation between the two parties, which escalated to physical violence, verbal abuse and stone pelting.
Vinod Dhiman, Superintendent of Police (SP), Baddi, said both parties accused each other of assault, vehicle damage and threats to kill each other. Upon receiving information about the incident, a team from the Manpura police station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Based on complaints from both the parties, separate cases were registered, the SP said. “Eight persons from both groups sustained injuries in the incident. The case is being investigated on priority,” said Dhiman.
