The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEBL) has initiated the recruitment process for employing 1,602 ‘Bijli Upbhokta Mitra’ on an outsourced basis to improve power services across the state. The board has issued orders for the recruitment, which will be conducted through the Himachal Pradesh State Electronic Development Corporation Limited (HPSEDC).

The Bijli Upbhokta Mitra will be paid a fixed honorarium of Rs 10,000 for working six hours per day. The board has directed the Chief Engineers to provide the number and location where the ‘Bijli Upbhokta Mitra’ are required within a week.

The eligibility criteria for the position of ‘Bijli Upbhokta Mitra’ include matriculation with ITI (electrician/wireman trade) from a recognised institution, aged between 18-30 years and reasonable physical fitness and ability to work in the field. The aspirant should not be a person with a disability.

The recruitment of ‘Bijli Upbhokta Mitra’ aims to improve the resolution of consumer grievances in the field and increase transparency in electricity services.
