The Himachal Kisan Sabha and Kisan Sangharsh Samiti on Wednesday led a protest by apple farmers in Narkanda against Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) and blocked traffic on the Narkanda-Shimla highway.

The ‘chakka jam’ was led by Theog MLA Rakesh Singha. The traffic on the highway remained blocked for three hours.

The protestors said APMC failed to act against arhtiyas (commission agents) who were not making payments due to farmers.
