Five-day mobile security boot camp wraps up

The programme was organised under the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Project, funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
The event was coordinated by Dr Anjali Sharma, Assistant Professor, UIT HPU, who oversaw the planning and execution of all academic and technical activities throughout the boot camp. Dr Sharma also presented a brief event report during the valedictory session, highlighting the programme’s major achievements and outcomes.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Prof AJ Singh, Director, UIT HPU, who attended as the chief guest and appreciated the initiative for strengthening cybersecurity skills and awareness among students and faculty.
A team of experts from C-DAC Mohali, comprising Harpreet Bawa, Sumera Farooq, Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Chandel, played a pivotal role in delivering technical sessions, hands-on training and expert guidance throughout the boot camp.
The camp featured 12 expert sessions delivered by distinguished speakers from NIT Hamirpur, HPU Shimla, Sardar Patel University Mandi, University of Delhi, and C-DAC Mohali. Key topics included IoT-enabled mobile environment security, OS security for mobile devices, privacy and compliance, mobile communication threats, AI-driven mobile security, mobile-cloud data protection and Sybil attack detection.
Participants expressed highly positive feedback during the valedictory session, noting the camp was well-designed, informative, and aligned with current industry needs. The ECE Department extended its gratitude to all experts, staff and participants for contributing to the success of the event.
