  • Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur got a floral welcome at Slapper on Wednesday. It is for the first time that a politician from Mandi has become a Chief Minister. Mandi is the second largest district having 10 Assembly segments after Kangra.
  • He was accompanied by Power Minister Anil Sharma and Irrigation and Public Health Minister Mahender Thakur.
  • Residents of Kangu, Sundernagar, Dadour, Kanaid, Nerchowk, Gutkar and Pulghrat stopped the CM’s vehicle at several places and presented him flowers. Workers played traditional musical instruments.
  • From Slapper to Mandi, as many as 150 gates were set up. The Chief Minister was late by more than two hours, still locals waited for him.
  • The Muslim community from Dinak village set up a welcome gate near Kanaid against the wishes of MLA Vinod Kumar, who wanted the gate to be set up at Kanaid.
