The footbridge over the Parbati river at Katagla in Manikaran valley has not been repaired after it was damaged in the 2018 floods. So far, three persons have died after slipping down the damaged bridge, which connects Katagla, Chhalal and Rasol villages of Chhalal panchayat. Neither the project management, who constructed the bridge, nor the administration is taking steps to renovate it. The government should take immediate steps to renovate this bridge to avoid further mishaps. — Ved Ram, Kullu

No tickets given to shimla passengers

Private buses don’t give tickets to passengers in Shimla. Sometimes, it causes trouble as the conductor forgets that the passenger has already paid the fare. An unnecessary argument ensues, which could be easily avoided if tickets are given to the passengers. — Rakesh Dogra, Shimla
