Mandi, January 10
The Mandi-Pathankot fourlane-affected people are urging the state government to hike circle rates so that they get adequate compensation for the land that has been acquired by the state government for the proposed project in Mandi district.
Those affected alleged that the state government provided compensation for the land acquired based on circle rates specified by the Revenue Department, which was quite low compared to the present market value of the land. So the government should hike circle rates of the land acquied, which will be a great help to those affected to get adequate relief for the land they have lost for the fourlane project.
A delegation of people met Mandi Subdivisional Magistrate Madan Kumar over the issue and apprised him of their grievances. Later, they submitted a memorandum regarding their demands.
