The state government should frame a policy for providing government jobs to the widows of martyrs. Former minister and senior Congress leader GS Bali stated this after visiting the family of the CRPF jawan, Tilak Raj, who was martyred in the Pulwama terror attack.

Bali said the compensation given to the families of martyrs was not enough and to run the houses, their wives should be given government jobs. Bali said he would try to get the issue included in the Congress poll manifesto. The former minister announced a grant of Rs 2,000 per month from his own trust for the next 10 years for the education of the children of Tilak Raj. The family said songs composed by Tilak Raj would be released. He had recorded a few ‘Pahari’ songs, which became a hit. He had composed one more song, which was to be shot in his next vacation.
