In a major step towards upgrading infrastructure and improving guest services at tourism properties, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has introduced golf cart facilities at four of its prominent hotels. The initiative was formally inaugurated by HPTDC Chairman RS Bali, who flagged off a golf cart at the Tourism Hotel, Palampur, yesterday.

The introduction of golf carts is aimed at providing greater convenience to tourists, particularly senior citizens, children and differently-abled visitors, while also enhancing the overall hospitality experience at HPTDC hotels.

Besides Palampur, golf cart services have also been introduced at tourism hotels in Khajjiar, Chail and Kasauli. Bali inaugurated the facility at these locations through video conferencing, ensuring simultaneous launch across multiple destinations.

Speaking on the occasion, Bali said the availability of golf carts would significantly improve internal mobility within hotel premises and make stays more comfortable for guests. He said that many private hotels already offer such modern amenities, and the introduction of golf carts at HPTDC properties would help them remain competitive and more attractive to tourists.

Emphasising the corporation’s long-term vision, Bali stated that the primary objective was to increase footfall and revenue of HPTDC hotels by upgrading facilities and services. “Our aim is to transform HPTDC hotels into modern, tourist-friendly destinations while preserving their unique locations and heritage,” he added.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by HPTDC Managing Director Rajiv Kumar, along with senior officials and staff of the corporation.
