Dharamsala residents enjoyed yet another cultural extravaganza at the ‘The Folk & Pop Evening’ filled with lot of action and drama. On the penultimate day of the five-day ‘Kangra Valley Carnival’ Ayush Minister Yadwinder Goma who was the chief guest. Goma congratulated and thanked the Chief Minister for having instructed the district administration to organise this event on such a large scale. He said, “This initiative reflects the CM’s commitment towards making Kangra the tourism capital of the state. Kangra has rich culture and tradition which needs to be preserved and promoted”. He looked hopeful that the plans of the Chief Minister would bring the desired results.

Rashmeet Kaur the renowned singer, composer and songwriter entertained the crowd with her popular numbers. Rashmeet is an established Bollywood playback singer who immediately connected to the audience who were mostly youth. She is known for her album Nadiyon Paar, Ishq Nachaawe, Jee karda. Her popular album ‘Jadi Buti’ was nominated for Grammy. Ishan Bhardwaj created core Himachali ambience through his popular songs ‘Manimahesha Chal Chaliye’, ‘Nikki Jini Gujri’ and ‘Simlo’. Anuj Sharma of the ‘Indian Idol’ fame hailing from Rehan in Kangra district and R J Shankyy known for his soulful shayari were other star performers for the day.

Two Camels arrived at the hill town today adding to the amusement. People enjoyed the gentle gait that rocks the camel rider. ‘It was a pleasure to ride the camel, it was really a journey through the sands of time,’ said Shriya, a college student.
