Govt committed to strengthen rural economy, improve SHGs’ income: CM
The implementation of the e-family register had been made mandatory from April 27, 2024 and as many as 18.96 lakh families which is 99.84% in the state have already been registered, said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
The Chief Minister said this while presiding over a review meeting of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department today. He said the state government was committed to strengthening the rural economy. “The department plays a crucial role in this effort and directed the department to digitize its operations, which would go a long way in enhancing service delivery to the common people,” he said.
“For the first time, the registration of livestock had also been introduced on the same portal from December, 2024,” he added.
“To improve citizen convenience, 780 Common Service Centres (CSCs) have been set up in Gram Panchayat buildings during 2024-25. Additionally, services like Parivar Nakal, marriage certificates and BPL certificates are now available online via the e-Family Portal and e-District Portal. So far, 11,016 Parivar Nakal, 3,595 marriage certificates and 5,004 BPL certificates have been issued online in 2024-25,” he said.
The Chief Minister stressed the government’s commitment to increase the income of women self-help groups (SHGs) and said that recently, seven food vans had been allocated to SHGs and in the next financial year, 60 more food vans would be offered. He further said that shops for SHGs would be allocated in all hotels under construction by the Tourism Department and the HPTDC. Additionally, SHGs products such as soaps, etc, will also be supplied to all HPTDC hotels to enhance their earnings.
He directed the department to improve the marketing of SHG products and natural farming produce. “To boost online sales, the state government has launched a dedicated Him-ira e-commerce website, which is already yielding positive results,” he said.
The Chief Minister also instructed the department to accelerate the implementation of all projects and asked officers to work proactively in delivering maximum benefits to the people.

CM reviews developmental works of Solan district
The Chief Minister held a meeting with the MLAs of Solan district at his official residence Oakover today and discussed various developmental works related to the district.
During the meeting, he took detailed information and feedback from the MLAs about the development works going on in every Assembly constituency of the district. He said that public representatives should make continuous efforts to complete all the projects under construction in the district on time.
He said that innovation should be given special preference in new projects and they should be conceived from the 'Green State' perspective.
The Chief Minister said that many ambitious schemes were being implemented by the state government for public welfare and the overall development of the state. He asked the MLAs to make continuous efforts to ensure that maximum number of people get the benefit of these schemes.
“The state government had taken several initiatives to strengthen the rural economy. New schemes and programmes are being implemented in rural areas. To make these efforts of the government fruitful, people should be made aware to avail the benefits of the schemes,” he said.
He said that Solan district had an important contribution in strengthening the economy of the state. The state government was committed to ensure the all-round development of the district.
