Govt falsely claiming Rs1,500 per month being provided to all women, says Satti
The BJP today hit out at the Congress government for making false claims of having fulfilled election guarantees. Una MLA Satpal Singh Satti, while participating in the debate on the Governor’s Address in the Vidhan Sabha, criticised the government for trying to mislead people by claiming that all women were being provided a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,500. “The government has not fulfilled the guarantee of purchasing cow milk for Rs 100 per litre and cow dung,” he added.
Satti expressed concern over rampant illegal mining being done by the Punjab mafia in Una, thus causing damage to the channelling of the Swan river. “A state minister has gone to the extent of saying that the Congress organisation has become paralysed,” he alleged.
Naina Devi MLA Randhir Sharma lamented that legislators were not being invited to government functions, including that of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. “While the state government is refusing to take more IAS/IPS officers, on the other, officers facing corruption charges and vigilance probes have been given important posts. Retired officers are being appointed, which is very wrong,” he added.
Sharma said that the government was making misleading claims of undertaking uniform development in the state. “I can say with certainty that uniform development is not taking place even in the Assembly segments of the 40 Congress legislators,” he claimed. He added that health services were suffering due to a huge shortage of doctors.
Doon MLA Ram Kumar said that the Congress government had fulfilled six of the 10 guarantees given to people before the last Assembly elections. “The Chief Minister is trying to bring the economy back on track that had derailed due to the financial liabilities left behind by the previous BJP regime,” he claimed. Rohru MLA Mohan Lal Brakta said that the Congress Government would fulfil all 10 guarantees in its five-year term.
