Himachal Govt ignoring priority works of BJP MLAs: Jai Ram Thakur
Thakur asked the CM to release the MLAs’ development and discretionary funds with immediate effect
Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has accused the Himachal Government of ignoring the BJP legislators’ priority works. “The priorities submitted annually by BJP MLAs for their constituencies have not been acted upon for the past three years,” Thakur alleged.
Urging the Chief Minister to rise above party politics, Thakur asked him to release the MLAs’ development and discretionary funds with immediate effect and ensure budgetary approvals and implementation of pending priority works. “The BJP would have no option but to boycott the MLAs’ priority meetings if situation does not improve,” said Thakur.
Thakur alleged that the government has neither prepared Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the priority works of the BJP MLAs nor forwarded them to concerned departments for financial approvals. Thakur further claimed that even projects where budgets have been allocated, DPRs approved and forest clearances obtained are being delayed on one pretext or another.
He questioned the rationale behind holding annual meetings on MLAs’ priorities when the government is not serious about implementing them. He warned that that the BJP legislators may be forced to boycott future meetings if the situation does not improve.
