He reviewed major tourism initiatives, including the proposed redevelopment of the Chintpurni Temple under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 programme. Stressing timely execution, Thakur called for coordinated efforts between central ministries, the state government, and associated agencies to strengthen tourism infrastructure and boost cultural and religious tourism in the region. Adventure tourism prospects were also discussed with officials, with emphasis on sustainable development.
In a separate meeting with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, National Highways Authority of India and the NHIDCL, Anurag raised concerns over toll imposition, tariff structures and user charges on highways. He also flagged issues related to the recently introduced state road tax, seeking clarity and balanced regulation.
Further, during discussions on the UDAN with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, DGCA, and Airports Authority of India, Anurag pressed for improved air connectivity. He specifically called for expansion of Kangra airport and resolution of operational challenges at Shimla airport.
