Creation of better infrastructure in the health sector is the priority of the state government and Rs 1 crore per centre is being spent on the purchase of modern equipment for 69 model health institutions of the state.

Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi stated this while addressing a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti at Arki Civil Hospital after inaugurating the Urban Health and Wellness Centre today.

“The centre will cater to 4,000 people of the area. The establishment of the centre is important in the direction of establishing a strong and inclusive healthcare system,” stated Awasthi.

“A dedicated health team will be working in this centre. Expansion and strengthening of primary healthcare system is necessary in urban areas so that the patient can get speedier treatment in case of emergency,” he added.

The MLA said there was a regular improvement in the health services being provided to the people. “The state government is trying to establish an integrated public health laboratory equipped with all the testing facilities in every district by the end of 2026. The government is spending Rs 3,415 crore on the health sector this year,” he added.

The MLA said the funds of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti should be used to provide better health facilities to the people of the area and there should be complete transparency in the income and expenditure of this amount.

He said facilities like ultra-lab will be made available to the people soon so that the diagnostic tests can be done without delay. “In order to provide qualitative health facilities to the people, provision of necessary budget will be made for expansion of various facilities in Civil Hospital, Arki,” he said. Block Medical Officer Dr Tara Chand Negi presented a budget of Rs 77.67 lakh for the financial year 2024-25 for Civil Hospital, Arki, and Rs 31.5 lakh for Civil Hospital, Kunihar, for approval.
