Amid the growing frequency and intensity of flood-related disasters in the Himalayan region, an international research initiative titled HIFLO-App is being actively implemented in Kullu district. The aim of the project is to address the escalating risks posed by climate-induced hazards by strengthening scientific research, community participation and data-driven decision-making.

The University of Cumbria, United Kingdom, is leading the HIFLO-App project in collaboration with the University of Delhi, Govind Ballabh Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment, University of Gloucestershire, Caritas India, and Climate B Venture. This multi-institutional partnership reflects a strong India-UK academic and research collaboration focused on climate resilience in fragile Himalayan ecosystems.
