Himachal: BJP sweeps Arki Municipal Council poll, wins 4 of 7 seats

BJP candidates bagged a majority of four seats in the Arki municipal council, while Congress candidates could barely secure three seats.

With two candidates receiving an equal number of 83 votes in Ward Number 5, the winner was decided by a draw of lots. Congress’ Seema Sharma managed to win this seat as luck favoured her.

The other two Congress candidates who won in the polls are Pradeep Kumar and Anuj Gupta. BJP candidates who won the elections are Ranjana, Devinder Kumar, Kiran Gupta and Veena Thakur.
