Himachal Pradesh, currently in the grip of a dry spell, is expected to receive snowfall on December 4 and 5. According to the State Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry across the state till December 3. Thereafter, the higher hills are likely to witness light snowfall and rain on December 4, while the plains and the low and mid hills will continue to remain dry. Light snowfall and rain are also likely at isolated places in the higher and middle hills on December 5, whereas the plains and low hills are expected to see dry weather. Dry conditions may prevail across the state thereafter.

Minimum temperatures across Himachal are expected to fall by 2°C to 5°C in the coming days, bringing much colder conditions. Maximum temperatures are also likely to dip by 2°C to 3°C.

Meanwhile, the weather remained mostly dry throughout the state on Saturday, with many areas experiencing bright sunshine. Minimum temperatures ranged from minus 7°C to 13°C. Most places reported normal minimum temperatures, while a few recorded readings 2°C to 3°C below normal. Maximum temperatures ranged from 11°C to 29°C and were largely normal, with some areas reporting temperatures 2°C to 4°C above normal in the past 24 hours.

Una, with a maximum temperature of 27°C, was the hottest place in the state, while Tabo village in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest, recording a minimum of minus 7°C.
