Himachal CM Sukhu presents Rs 40,461-cr supplementary budget
This includes a budget of Rs 36,374.61 crore under state schemes and Rs 4,087.34 crore under centrally sponsored schemes
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today presented supplementary demands for grants to the tune of Rs 40,461.95 crore in the Vidhan Sabha for the year 2025-26. The Chief Minister said the supplementary budget included Rs 36,374.61 crore under state schemes and Rs 4,087.34 crore under centrally sponsored schemes.
The major expenditure proposed under the state schemes includes 26,194.95 crore for repayment of ways and means advance and overdraft, Rs 4,150.14 crore for power subsidy, Rs 818.20 crore for relief on account of natural calamities, Rs 785.22 crore for water supply and sanitation schemes, Rs 657.22 crore for HIMCARE, SAHARA, Robotic Surgery in medical colleges at Shimla, Tanda, Hamirpur, Nerchowk and AIMSS Chamyana, establishment of advanced testing laboratories at Tanda, Hamirpur and AIMSS Chamyana, purchase of PET Scan Machines at Hamirpur and Tanda, construction of Government Medical College, Hamipur, and various hospitals and power supply to AIIMS, Bilaspur.
Under the Centrally Sponsored Schemes, supplementary demand is proposed for funding the ongoing and new schemes for which money has been received during the year from the Government of India. The prominent among these are Rs 2453.97 crore for disaster management under National Disaster Response Fund, Rs 688 crore 40 lakh for Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, Rs 352.18 crore for compensation to Renukaji Dam oustees. Besides, Rs 82.45 crore for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), Rs 68.30 crore for MGNREGA, Rs 55,50 crore for Phina Singh Project, Rs 36.66 for National Ayush Mission.
