Mukesh Agnihotri will inaugurate the International Maha Shivratri festival in Mandi on February 16. The weeklong religious and cultural festival will be held from February 16 to 22.

As per the official programme, the Deputy Chief Minister will participate in the first Jaleb — the traditional procession of deities — and formally inaugurate the celebrations at Paddal Ground. Later in the evening, he will attend the first cultural night at the historic Seri Stage as the chief guest.

Agnihotri is scheduled to arrive in Mandi on the evening of February 15. After a brief halt at the Circuit House, he will take part in the Beas Aarti near the Panchvaktra temple at 6.30 pm and stay overnight.

On February 16, he will offer prayers at the Bhimakali temple at 12.45 pm, partake in the traditional Devalu Dham, perform puja at the Raj Madhav Rai temple and then join the Jaleb procession before inaugurating the festival. He is scheduled to return to Shimla on February 17.
