Himachal Deputy CM honours Operation Sindoor martyr, state-level achievers
Pushpa Rana, vice-captain of Indian women’s kabaddi team, Aniketa Sharma, assistant professor at Dr YS Parmar Government Medical College and Hospital among those feted
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today honoured state-level achievers in different fields and institutions working for the welfare of society at the annual function of Himotkarsh Parishad, a voluntary organisation.
Among those honoured included family members of Subedar Major Pawan Kumar (Sena Medal), who hailed from Shahpur in Kangra district and was martyred on May 10 last during Operation Sindoor in the Rajouri Sector. Former BSF sub-inspector Vyas Dev from Bathu village in Una district was honoured for exceptional bravery in the line of duty.
Pushpa Rana, vice-captain of Indian women’s kabaddi team, Aniketa Sharma, assistant professor at Dr YS Parmar Government Medical College and Hospital, Shiv Karan Rana of Dangoli village in Una district, who has been selected in the Senior Judicial Service in the state of Jharkhand, and litterateur Shyam Lal Sharma from Bilaspur were also honoured.
Organisations awarded on the occasion included Himachal Mandi Jankalyan Sabha, Delhi, and Himachal Mahasabha, Chandigarh. Students, who topped exams conducted by the state universities and state school education board during the last academic year, were also honoured.
