Shimla, November 25
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today said the state government would authorise all six government medical colleges, Zonal Hospitals of Shimla and Dharamsala, and Civil Hospital at Rohru and Rampur, to hire manpower on the outsource basis till March 31.
He was presiding over a meeting through videoconferencing from Pathankot with senior officials of the Health Department.
Thakur said the principals of the medical colleges and controlling officers of these health institutions had been directed to take necessary action immediately and send a compliance report within three days.
He said the decision had been taken to ensure adequate manpower to handle the Covid situation. Nurses, laboratory technicians, Class IV and data entry operators would be temporarily recruited on the outsource basis at the IGMC, Shimla, and the medical colleges at Ner Chowk (Mandi), Hamirpur, Chamba, and Nahan, Deen Dayal Upadhayay Zonal Hospital, Civil Hospital, Khaneri, at Rampur and Civil Hospital, Rohru.
The CM said five medical officials each had been deployed on a temporary basis at Deen Dayal Upadhayay, Zonal Hospital, Shimla, and the medical colleges at Mandi, Chamba and Zonal Hospital, Dharamsala. — TNS
