In view of the recent surge in Covid cases, the High Court has issued instructions regarding its working and of district courts.

As per the instructions, Saturdays falling on January 15 and January 22 have been declared closed days for the High Court, its Registry and district courts. The High Court will function with 50 per cent staff and the remaining staff will work from home and remain available at their residences. They will not be allowed to leave their stations without permission of the competent authorities. Wearing of face masks is mandatory on the court premises.

The staff of the district courts, which will have winter vacation from January 17 to February 12, will be deployed in such a manner that 50 per cent of them will remain on duty and the remaining will avail of special casual leave, as per the batches ordered by the district judges concerned.

In the summer zone, to maintain social distancing, 50 per cent of the sanctioned staff will attend office on a rotational basis on every working day and the remaining staff will work from home.

Besides, the District and Sessions Judges are authorised to be strict in listing cases in their Civil and Sessions divisions to maintain social distancing.
