Himachal Horticultural Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation logs Rs 6.65-cr profit in 2024-25

The Horticultural Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (HPMC) achieved a turnover of Rs 111 crore and logged a net profit of Rs 6.65 crore in 2024-25. The corporation’s annual accounts for the year 2024-25 were laid in the HPMC Board of Directors (BoD) meeting here today.

The board approved the constitution of a sub-committee under the chairmanship of the HPMC vice-chairman that will focus on the formulation of a comprehensive marketing plan for HPMC products and development of the corporation’s vacant land and under-utilised properties. It has been done to enhance revenue generation and expand commercial activities of the corporation.

The BoD also approved proposals for establishing a grading and packing (GP) line and a controlled atmosphere (CA) store for the Chopal area, utilising available land of the Department of Horticulture on a PPP mode. In view of the staff constraints in the corporation, the board approved that manpower may be deployed from the Department of Horticulture on secondment basis, wherever required, to ensure smooth functioning of HPMC operations.

The board also discussed the mechanism for the release of payments under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to ensure transparency. It recommended that small and needy farmers be provided horticulture mineral oil up to five drums. — TNS
