Speaking to the media before leaving for Telangana, where he will assume charge as Governor in the next couple of days, Shukla said the lack of a robust work culture could leave Himachal behind in the race for progress.

“Uttarakhand became a state much later than Himachal, but it has moved ahead in terms of development. Work culture is visible there, but not in Himachal,” he said.

Reflecting on his nearly three-year tenure as Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shukla expressed satisfaction over the Nasha Mukt Himachal Abhiyan he initiated in the state. However, he also expressed concern over the Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination Campaign, noting that TB cases in Himachal have increased compared to other states.

Shukla emphasized the importance of respecting constitutional positions, citing the President’s visit to West Bengal as an example.
