Himachal: Police to host yoga session on June 21

With an aim to promote fitness and healthy lifestyle amongst the people, the Himachal Pradesh Police in collaboration with the state’s Ayush Department has decided to host a mass yoga session at the iconic Ridge, on the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day. The day is celebrated annually on June 21.

The session will be held from 6 am to 7 am under the theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” and the reporting time for the event will be 5.30 pm.

Highlighting the importance of yoga, Ashok Tewari, DGP, said, “Yoga is not merely a physical exercise. It is a complete science of life gifted by ancient Indian wisdom to humanity. Regular practice of yoga strengthens the body, controls stress, improves concentration and brings harmony between the body, mind and soul.” He also appealed to residents especially students, youth, senior citizens, police personnel to actively participate in this session.
