Himachal Pradesh CM: No irregularities in auction of liquor vends
CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today strongly refuted the allegations of irregularities in auction of liquor vends by Naina Devi MLA Randhir Sharma.
Rebutting Sharma’s allegations, Sukhu said there was a loss of Rs 121 crore due to non-auction of the liquor vends by the previous BJP regime. “We have never made any changes in the rules for auction of liquor vends framed by you. We auctioned strictly as per the liquor policy whereas your regime gave several concessions which resulted in loss of revenue to the exchequer,” he said.
The CM said there was complete transparency to ensure that there was fair award of vends because of which at some places it was done repeatedly, even nine times. He said liquor vends were auctioned as per the Excise Policy whereas your government never auctioned the vends, resulting in loss of revenue to the government.
“We auctioned the liquor vends with total transparency and as per policy with no violation of norms,” Sukhu said.
