Preventive detention orders have been issued against eight notorious drug traffickers, including five from Shimla district and one each from Dehra, Nurpur, and Una. A spokesperson for the Himachal Pradesh Police stated that the police are carrying out well-planned and coordinated operations across the state under the PIT-NDPS Act to break organised drug trafficking networks.

The police worked closely across districts, used accurate intelligence, and followed a clear legal plan to dismantle the organised drug supply network. A detailed investigation is underway to check the movable and immovable properties of the detained traffickers. If any property is found to have been bought with money earned from illegal drug activities, it will be seized according to the law.

“This step aims not only to punish the offenders but also to break and completely shut down their financial networks,” said the spokesperson. The coordinated operation demonstrates the state’s zero-tolerance policy against organised drug trafficking. The Himachal Pradesh Police will continue to take strict action against habitual and notorious traffickers, breaking their criminal networks, money channels, and supply systems.
