Himachal sizzles: Heatwave warning issued as mercury rises 4-7°C

At 6.2°C, lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Lahaul and Spiti district's Kukumseri village

Heatwave is expected to continue in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday as a result of a yellow alert which has been issued for several places across the state.

As per the State's Meteorological Centre, minimum temperatures are expected to surge by 2°C to 7°C today, while maximum temperatures are expected to surge by 4°C to 5°C. As a result, heatwave conditions are expected in Shimla, Una, Dharamsala, Solan and Palampur today.

Weather is also expected to remain dry in most parts of the state, with very light precipitation predicted for isolated places of Lahaul and Spiti and Chamba districts.

Minimum temperature in Shimla is 20.6°C, Dharamsala 17.9°C, Manali 14.4°C, Kangra 21.5°C, Solan 16.7°C, Mandi 20.2°C, Bilaspur 22.5°C, Una 21.8°C, Kufri 15.6°C, Chamba 17.5°C, Paonta Sahib 26°C, Nahan 21.5°C and Keylong 8.3°C. The lowest minimum temperature in the state was 6.2°C, which was recorded in Kukumseri village in Lahaul and Spiti district.
