According to police, the boy went missing from his home a few days ago, after which his family approached the police and filed a missing persons complaint. As per the complaint, his mother alleged that on February 8, she went to attend a satsang with her two sons. However, as she was returning with her sons, one of her sons went towards Chirgaon market and didn’t return home.
The family then extensively searched the market and its adjoining areas to trace the missing boy, but was unable to find him. They also tried to contact him on his mobile; however, they found that calls on the number have been forwarded to his mother’s number.
Taking prompt action on the complaint, police registered a case under section 137 (2) (kidnapping) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and launched a search operation. The police teams conducted extensive search operations in Chirgaon, Dodra, and adjoining areas, but were unable to trace the boy.
However, police on Tuesday were able to trace the boy in the Dhalli area, about 8 kilometers away from Shimla. Police found that the boy had switched off his phone and was roaming around in the area with his friend.
Shimla Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gaurav Singh confirmed the report and said the boy has been found safe and his family has been informed.
