Himachal to witness snowfall on December 4, 5

As per the State’s Meteorological Department, the weather will continue to remain dry across Himachal till December 3

Currently facing a dry spell, Himachal Pradesh is set to witness snowfall on December 4 and 5. As per the State’s Meteorological Department, the weather will continue to remain dry across the state till December 3, after which the higher hills of the state are very likely to witness light snowfall as well as rainfall on December 4. The weather in plains, low and mid hills of the state will remain dry.

Light snowfall and rain will occur at the isolated places of the higher as well as the middle hills of the state on December 5, while weather in plains and low hills will remain dry. After this, weather will continue to remain dry across the state.

The minimum temperatures across the state are also expected to fall by 2°C to 5°C in the next few days leading to much colder days. Similarly, maximum temperatures will also fall by 2°C to 3°C in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the weather was mostly dry throughout the state with most places witnessing a bright sunny day. Minimum temperatures in the state ranged from –7 °C to 13 °C. In most places, temperatures were near normal, while in a few, they dipped below 2 °C to 3 °C. Similarly, maximum temperatures mostly near normal and ranged between 11 °C and 29 °C, with a few places recording 2 °C to 4 °C above normal during the last 24 hours.

Minimum temperature in Shimla and Dharamsala was 7°C while it was 1.9°C in Manali. Solan recorded 3.5°C, Kangra 5.3°C, Mandi 4.6°C, Bilaspur 6.5°C, Hamirpur 4.6°C, Bhuntar 1°C, Sundernagar 3.2°C, Kalpa 0.4°C, Narkanda 5.6°C, Kukumseri minus 4.8°C, Paonta Sahib 10°C and Nahan 12.7°C.

With 27°C maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the state while Tabo village in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest as it recorded minus 7°C minimum temperature.
