Himachal witnesses fresh snow, rain

The Meteorological Department forecasts dry weather across most parts of the state in the coming days

Himachal Pradesh witnessed heavy snow and rain overnight, disrupting road connectivity and electricity supply in several parts of the state.

As per the state’s Meteorological Department, Khadrala in Shimla district received 40.6 cm snow, Gondla 36 cm, Kukumseri 28.3 cm, Manali 28 cm, Kalpa 17.7 cm, Shillaroo 17 cm, Keylong 15 cm and Kufri 11 cm.

Bhuntar received the highest rainfall in the state at 55.4 mm. Other places recording significant rainfall included Bilaspur (45.6 mm), Naina Devi (44.6 mm), Kasauli (44.2 mm), Sundernagar (42.4 mm), Jogindernagar (40 mm), Solan (39.2 mm), Shimla (29 mm), Una (23.6 mm), Dharamsala (23.4 mm) and Nahan (11.2 mm).

The Meteorological Department has forecast dry weather across most parts of the state in the coming days, with light snow and rain likely to continue in the higher reaches.
