The Himachal Pradesh State Co-operative Bank on Monday honoured meritorious students, children of the bank’s employees and officers, who excelled in the Class X and Class XII examinations at its annual ‘Meritorious Awards Ceremony’ held at the Bank’s Training Institute (ACSTI) in Shimla.

On the occasion, 10 students, seven top performers in Class X and three in Class XII, were presented with medals, certificates and a cash prize of Rs 30,000 each.

In the Class X category, those honoured were Anushka Thakur, daughter of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who secured 98.60 per cent; Kanchan Sharma, daughter of Rekha Devi, 98.14 per cent; Ananya, daughter of Manohar Lal, 97.71 per cent; Toshika Sharma, daughter of Om Prakash, 97.29 per cent; Isha Sharma, daughter of Kuldeep Sharma, 97 per cent; Dhanika, daughter of Ashwani Kumar, 96.86 per cent; and Sonakshi, daughter of Sheeshi Ram, 96.29 per cent.

In the Class XII category, Swasti Sood, daughter of Sahiti Sood, secured 96.40 per cent; Vibhuti Kumari, daughter of Anjana Devi, 96.20 per cent; and Ayushi, daughter of Mahesh Kumar, 96 per cent.

Congratulating the students, Devender Shyam, chairman of the bank, said that their achievements reflected both their hard work and the values instilled by their families within the bank community. He also urged parents to promote the bank’s ‘Sapno Ka Sanchay Yojana’, which provides financial support for children’s higher education, in their respective areas so that more beneficiaries could avail themselves of the scheme. He added that the initiative also fosters the habit of small savings among children.

Managing director Shrawan Manta also congratulated the students and encouraged them, stating that no goal is unattainable with dedication and commitment. Sharing experiences from his own student days, he wished them success in their future endeavours.
