IIIT-Una holds AI outreach for school students

The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Una today conducted an outreach programme on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and entrepreneurship for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Saloh, in Una district under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan initiative. In a press release issued here, IIIT Director Prof Manish Gaur said the programme aimed to inspire and prepare young minds for a future driven by innovation and emerging technologies.

Around 80 students of Classes XI and XII participated in the programme. A team of student volunteers from IIIT-Una conducted the sessions. Prof Gaur said the Artificial Intelligence session covered the fundamentals of AI, the difference between AI and conventional software, the growing role of AI in everyday life, and the opportunities available through freely accessible AI tools that students can explore independently.

Prof Gaur said the second session focused on entrepreneurship and India’s rapidly expanding start-up ecosystem. Students learnt the basics of building start-ups, government initiatives that support young entrepreneurs, and the increasing role of Artificial Intelligence in developing innovative business solutions and new business ideas.

Dr Shonal Chouksey coordinated the outreach programme under the institute’s Unnat Bharat Abhiyan initiative. The student volunteer team comprised Vanshiv Garg, Dev Malhotra, Himanshu Singla, Vaibhav Shukla, Shivam Tyagi, Ankit Meena, Samarth Sharma, Vinayak Singh and Vinay Kumar.
