IIIT-Una to train 1K students for data analysis, python jobs

The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Una, has been sanctioned a short-term training programme under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana-4.0 to train 1,000 candidates for a data analysis with Python and SQL course, said IIIT Director Manish Gaur in a press note issued here yesterday.

He said that the programme, funded by the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, would focus on an industry-aligned, high-demand job role in the data analysis sector, in accordance with the National Skills Qualification Framework.

The Director said that the initiative would be particularly beneficial for youths residing in and around Una. He added that it would create new pathways for college-going students to acquire cutting-edge technical skills, secure better employment opportunities and contribute to the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’.

Gaur said that the institute’s faculty coordinator, Dr Gurpreet Kaur, played a significant role in securing and shaping the programme. Her dedicated groundwork and coordination ensured the programme was sanctioned and she would also oversee its implementation, curriculum delivery and compliance with the scheme’s guidelines.
