He honoured students who had excelled in studies, sports and cultural activities during the academic session.
The minister said that students should focus on achieving their aims and targets they had set for themselves. He also urged them to visit places of historical and religious importance during free time to relax and upgrade their knowledge, besides understanding their rich cultural heritage.
He said, “Haroli has become a hub of higher education with institutions like the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Central school, Nursing and Law College, a private university and a network of higher secondary schools.” He added that several students of these institutions had made a mark in various professions.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that drinking water and irrigation schemes of about Rs 1,000 crore were under construction in Haroli. He added that CCTV cameras were being installed at important junctions in Haroli, which shares a long border with Punjab. This, he added, would ensure the safety and security of people.
