Infighting comes to fore in D’sala

DHARAMSALA: Again, infighting in the Congress came to the fore during the protest, organised by the party, against price rise here today.

Dharamsala, November 10

Again, infighting in the Congress came to the fore during the protest, organised by the party, against price rise here today.

Activists, who supported former ministers Sudhir Sharma and Vijay Inder Karan during the last Dharamsala byelections, raised slogans against each other, creating an embarrassing situation for the party.

Sharma, who remained absent from Dharamsala for quiet sometime, was present.

Vijay Inder Karan had openly accused Sharma and his supporters of working against him during the recently concluded Dharamsala byelections and demanded his ouster from the party. He had alleged that Sharma’s supporters had worked for the BJP or an independent candidate.

The supporters of Sharma had, however, alleged that the Congress leaders had not worked seriously during the byelections.

After an embarrassing defeat, in which Vijay Inder Karan had lost his deposit.
