Intense showers likely in Himachal Pradesh from April 7

Snowfall, hail and rainfall are set to continue across Himachal Pradesh till April 10 as the state’s Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow weather warnings for various districts until April 8.

A yellow warning has been issued for Shimla, Kullu, Solan, Kangra, Sirmaur and Chamba districts for April 5, leading to thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds at isolated places on Sunday.

The department has forecast continued snowfall, hailstorms and rain across the state till April 10. A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from April 7, leading to intense showers across the state on April 7 and 8. However, minimum temperatures are expected to rise by 2°C to 5°C over the next few days, while maximum temperatures may increase by 2°C to 3°C during the same period.

Meanwhile, light to moderate snowfall and rainfall continued across the state over the past 24 hours.
