The Himachal Pradesh government is gearing up to host the International Kullu Dasehra from October 13 to 19 in Kullu with much fanfare.

At a curtain-raiser event held at Himachal Sadan in the National Capital on Friday, Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) Sunder Singh Thakur, who is also the chairman of the District Level International Kullu Dasehra Organising Committee, shared the plans for this year’s festival. “Efforts are being made to ensure the participation of more countries this year, and we are introducing a special fusion cultural programme, Thakur announced.

He further highlighted the International Dance Festival as a key attraction, stating, “This event will bring together the rich cultural performances of various countries along with the folk dances of the state.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
