Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today expressed gratitude to the people of the state for giving an unprecedented mandate to the BJP candidates in all four constituencies.

He said a history had been created as the BJP had got lead in all 68 Assembly segments and termed the verdict a referendum on the policies and programmes of the Modi government at the Centre and of the state government.

Giving credit of the mammoth victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who initiated several welfare programmes for the people, especially for the poor, during the five-year tenure, he said the public had rejected the false propaganda of the Opposition.

The Chief Minister said the credit for this victory also went to senior leaders like Shanta Kumar, Prem Kumar Dhumal, JP Nadda, party workers and, above all, the people, who gave their support to the BJP candidates.  He also thanked women and the youth for their valuable contribution. Thakur said the government, in over one year, had launched several schemes for the welfare of the masses.
