Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur laid strong emphasis on strengthening the Bharatiya Janata Party’s organisational structure in Palampur, a constituency the party has failed to win since 2007.

Addressing a meeting of party workers, he called upon them to intensify grassroots outreach and be fully prepared for Assembly elections that could be announced at any moment.

While addressing party workers of Palampur ‘mandal’, Jai Ram Thakur said that electoral success is possible only when the organisation is active at the booth and household level.

“Every worker must reach every home and connect directly with the people. Only then can we take the BJP’s policies and vision to the masses and ensure victory,” he asserted.

Highlighting Palampur as a politically crucial seat, he acknowledged that the party’s inability to win here for nearly two decades should serve as a lesson rather than a setback. He urged workers to analyse past shortcomings, strengthen coordination and work with renewed determination to reclaim the constituency.

The former Chief Minister cautioned that the political situation in the state remains fluid and elections could be declared at any time. “There should be no complacency. The BJP cadre must remain alert, united and election-ready round the clock,” he said.

Thakur also underlined the importance of discipline, organisational unity and continuous public engagement, stating that a strong cadre-based party like the BJP could only succeed when its workers remain active beyond election seasons.

He expressed confidence that with a robust organisational setup and sustained grassroots efforts, the BJP would be able to regain the trust of the people of Palampur and emerge victorious in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
