Jalori opens to light vehicles

Mandi: The NHAI has restored 10,800-ft high Jalori Pass on the Aut-Luhri-Sainj highway  in Kullu district to traffic last evening. The pass had been closed since January 6 because of heavy snowfall in the region. 

Due to closure of the pass, 58 gram panchayats of Anni and Nirmand blocks in the district were cut off from Kullu. They had been travelling via Karsog or Shimla to reach Kullu.

The route via Jalori is the shortest on the Aut-Luhri-Sainj road for the residents of these panchayats. The people heaved a sigh of relief on Friday when the NHAI had cleared the pass.
