Kabaddi player from Mandi honoured with Himachal Achiever Award-2026

International kabaddi player Bhupender Pal Thakur of Mandi district has been honoured with the prestigious Himachal Achiever Award-2026, recognising his outstanding contribution to sports. The award was presented at an event in Shimla on March 15 in the presence of dignitaries and sports enthusiasts.
MLA (Shimla Urban) Harish Janartha congratulated Bhupender for his remarkable achievement and praised his dedication and hard work that made him successful.
Bhupender has represented India twice in international competitions, including events held in Sri Lanka and India-Nepal tournaments.
Recently, he had successfully completed kabaddi coaching certification from the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, becoming a certified NIS coach. This milestone adds a new dimension to his career, enabling him to mentor and train aspiring players.
In addition to the Himachal Achiever Award, the National Bhavan Centre has also honoured him with a national award in New Delhi for his contribution to sports. Earlier, he had received the prestigious Yuva Shree Award.
