Kalka resident held for theft at warehouse
Solan, August 24
The Parwanoo police last evening arrested a 20-year old habitual offender from Kalka, six months after he allegedly stole consumer goods worth Rs 35,000 from a warehouse at Parwanoo.
In his complaint at the Parwanoo Police Station in February, Manoj Goyal, a resident of the Kalka Main Bazaar, had said on February 13 night, some unknown persons broke into his warehouse of fast moving consumer goods in Sector 1 of Parwanoo and stole goods worth Rs 35,000.
A case was registered under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC. During investigation, it was found that accused Rahul had sold the stolen goods to a trader, Ajay Kumar alias Ajju, in Kheda Sita Ram in Kalka. The police arrested Ajay and recovered stolen goods from his shop.
During interrogation, Ajay Kumar told the police that on February 26 Rahul alias Pauwa, a resident of Kheda Sita Ram, came to his shop and told him that he dealt in wholesale soaps and other goods which he would sell at a lower price.
Out of greed, Ajay bought the goods. He was arrested under Section 411 of the Indian Penal Code for buying stolen goods.
The police went after Rahul, but he evaded arrest on several occasions.
He was finally arrested last evening from Kalka and produced before a court today.
During investigation, Rahul revealed that he was involved in criminal activities earlier too and a theft case was registered against him at Parwanoo in 2022.
